Reciprocal Teaching
Reciprocal teaching allows the students to become the teachers, while working in a small group setting. Start off with the teacher demonstrating the model using the four strategies: summarizing, questioning, clarifying, and predicting to guide conversation working towards students taking turns being the teacher and facilitating the reciprocal teaching model (Reading Rockets, 2010).

During the reciprocal teaching model, students lead the discussion and work in small groups to make and record predictions, questions, clarify findings, and summarize the text.
CCSS.ELA-Literacy.W.6.2.a
Introduce a topic; organize ideas, concepts, and information, using strategies such as definition, classification, comparison/contrast, and cause/effect; include formatting (e.g., headings), graphics (e.g., charts, tables), and multimedia when useful to aiding comprehension. CCSS.ELA-Literacy.W.6.2.f Provide a concluding statement or section that follows from the information or explanation presented (Common Core State Standards Initiative, 2015). Additional Resources
